This very simple site uses basic HTML and CSS, coupled with a design made in Photoshop to create a look which is visually distinctive from from other sites in this genre. We also use PHP to execute some server-side includes to modularize the menu and footer content. For the banner graphic, we started with the stock photo of the knight and adjusted its curves and levels to give it a slightly edgier look. Next, we used Photoshop’s render clouds filter, duplicated the layer and worked it with blending modes and gradient masking layers. Finally, we used the Arcane Circles brush set available from deviantART.com to finish the look.
